Potiskum, Yobe State — August 22, 2025
As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) begins a fresh round of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), stakeholders in Potiskum Local Government Area have called on residents of voting age to take advantage of the opportunity and register.

Speaking at a press briefing, the Chairman of the Stakeholders, Hon. Muhammad Auwal, reminded citizens that the first step to empowerment and political participation is to obtain a voter’s card, describing it as the “weapon” to elect leaders of choice.

“The voter card is your voice, your strength, and your right. Without it, you cannot fully participate in shaping our democracy,” Hon. Auwal stated.

He urged both the people of Potiskum and Yobe State at large who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to seize the opportunity provided by INEC to register as prospective voters.

According to INEC, online pre-registration commences on August 18, 2025, while in-person registration begins on August 25, 2025, at all 37 state offices and 774 local government offices nationwide.

This initiative forms part of INEC’s nationwide drive to ensure maximum citizen participation ahead of the forthcoming elections.
